Space

Biffy Clyro released A Celebration of Endings in August 2020, their third consecutive UK number one album, and Space was the single that gave the record its heart. Simon Neil called it the album's most unashamedly sincere song, about a space in his heart that will always be kept for someone, and the band kept the music deliberately simple, adding lush strings at Abbey Road. Couples choose it because it is modern, British and sincere without being soft, and because the melody sits in a range most singers can manage, which matters when a band is asked to cover it. In October 2020 the band released an orchestral version recorded at Abbey Road with a forty piece orchestra and choir.
