Impossible

Nothing But Thieves are from Southend and built a following through heavy touring before their third album Moral Panic arrived in 2020. Impossible is a slow, widescreen ballad in which Conor Mason's falsetto describes a love that feels too large to be real, climbing to a chorus that would not be out of place on a Muse record. Couples choose it because it is a current British rock song with the drama of a classic power ballad, and the long rise in the final minute suits a dance that ends with the whole room clapping.
