Lashuv Habaita

Lashuv Habaita means To Return Home, and it is the song that turned Ishay Ribo from a religious singer songwriter into an Israeli household name. Ribo released it at the end of November 2017 ahead of his third album Shetach Afor, and it is still described as his biggest song in Israel. The lyric is about being welcomed back no matter how far you have wandered, which couples read as a promise to each other, and the slow build from acoustic guitar to full band gives a first dance a natural arc. A detail few guests will know: Ribo wrote it at seventeen, about a decade before he finally recorded it.
