Kane Brown built his audience on social media before signing to a major label, and Heaven, released in 2017 on the deluxe edition of his self titled debut album, was his second number one at US country radio. The song argues that the afterlife could not improve on lying beside the person he loves, and that mixture of the sacred and the ordinary is what couples respond to. Brown's low voice sits over a soft, pulsing arrangement that stays quiet throughout, which suits a slow dance with no awkward crescendo to time. The video shows Brown alone at a microphone in a room lit only by candles. Brown married Katelyn Jae in 2018.
