5 Years Time

Noah and the Whale came out of Twickenham, led by Charlie Fink, and 5 Years Time was first released on the Young and Lost Club label in 2007 before its reissue as the breakout single from their debut album Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down in 2008. The song is a whistled, ukulele driven daydream about a couple visiting the zoo and wondering whether they will still be together in five years, with a chorus of sun, fun and love. Couples pick it because it is light, hopeful and easy to dance to, and because it suits a summer wedding. Laura Marling sang backing vocals on the original recording before leaving the band.
