PerfectFairground Attraction

Fairground Attraction were a London band fronted by Scottish singer Eddi Reader, and Perfect, written by guitarist Mark Nevin, went to number one in the UK in 1988 and won the BRIT Award for Best Single. The song's skiffle swing and Reader's bright, playful vocal make it one of the few folk pop songs that a whole room of British guests of every age will know and sing, and the chorus insistence on nothing less than perfect gives it an obvious wedding fit. Couples who want a first dance with a bit of bounce rather than a slow sway choose it. Reader has since built a long solo career, including an acclaimed album of Robert Burns songs.
