Grow Old With Me

Tom Odell, the Chichester born pianist who won the BRITs Critics' Choice award before his first album was out, released Grow Old With Me in 2013 as the opening track and fourth single from his debut Long Way Down, which went to number one in Britain. The lyric is a direct request to spend a whole life together, and the piano keeps it slow and unhurried. Couples choose it because it is about the long view rather than the honeymoon. The song later found an American audience through a Kaiser Permanente healthcare advertising campaign, and in 2014 Odell won the Ivor Novello award for songwriter of the year.
