John Legend released this in January 2020 as the lead single from his album Bigger Love, and it has become a regular request at weddings. It is a slow piano ballad in the style of his earlier hits, with a lyric that runs through the small promises of a shared life, late night talks, bad days survived together, growing old. Couples choose it because it describes marriage rather than courtship, and the tempo suits a slow, close dance. Legend wrote it with Chance Pena, Jesse Fink, Gregg Wattenberg and Kellen Pomeranz, and a David Guetta remix followed in February. It has gone gold in America, Australia and New Zealand.
